About

Designer Wendy Lau launched the American luxury brand “edidi” in 2000, with her collection of precious metal and gemstone handbags. Meticulous attention to detail and flawless handcraftsmanship have distinguished her as an authentic voice in the global luxury arena. Her contemporary vision of classic opulence has redefined the evening bag with innovative designs, exquisite materials, and a commitment to fine artistry. The bags are distinguished by the designer's signature frames that hold a patent of design and utility from both the United States and the European Union.

Born in China and raised in New York City, Wendy traveled the world buying high-end fashion and accessory collections for five-star hotel stores in Asia for 10 years before establishing her own business. Her love of pearls and colored gemstones inspired her to create the “edidi” collection. But it is her understanding of haute couture and fashion design that makes her bags collector items for the next generation of women, whose sensibility can range from classic to unconventional, and for those who use luxury accessories to express their own independent sense of style.

Handmade in New York City in her Tribeca atelier, each unique bag takes six to eight weeks of work by a master craftsman and specialized technicians who set, on average, over 2,000 pieces of Chaton crystal per bag as well as hand-wired precious and semiprecious stones in the 18K gold or platinum frames.
